Currently at clvl 15 possessing a Swordsman doing 122 Normal damage with a Trident (1d8) (+0,+0) with AC 56 and zero Base Speed.
Me receiving a Ring of Combat (+0,+8) as the Wargs quest reward certainly boosted the Normal damage into Hugo caliber!
It won't be long before I have to give up the Swordsman...
Well, here goes the 1036th Hugo$oul, destined to find Locke as a wanted monster. Actually, one of his ancestors (Hugo$oul 1033, I think) was destined to find Wahha-Man. But, because I changed goals, I would rather want Locke as a major end-game body to use. Indeed, Locke is guaranteed to drop a corpse for Hugo$oul 1036. Come to think of it, Hugo$oul 1036 has many ancestors (between Hugo$oul 931 and Hugo$oul 1032) who were "guaranteed" to get a corpse from Locke. Maybe someday, I'll have these ancestors march forward like soldiers to search, kill, and possess Locke. Anyways, for Hugo$oul 1036's purposes, Locke it is...targeted, unless I find something better, be it Combat-Echizen, GCWADL, or even a re-consideration of Wahha-Man.

Continued on with the Labyrinth. Nearly got killed by some invisible monster that wouldn't leave me alone. Combination of the Short Bow of Robin Hood + a Barbarian Talisman (+2) {St[M} + timely STR stat gains + a !Augmentation + access to a Fire troll = HUGO MODE *ACTIVATED*!
Should be done with Labyrinth soon. Would consider doing some Angband / town quests. I need to be very careful with the lack of Free Action!!
Key finds:
1) The Short Bow of Robin Hood (x3) (+15,+17) (+2) {Di, Labyrinth 17, Robin Hood}
-Very glad this has Resist Disenchantment
2) a Barbarian Talisman (+2) {St[M}
-Good STR + Anti-magic is great in the early game
3) The Hard Leather Cap of Sam (+1,+1) [2,+7] (+1) {Labyrinth 17, Robin Hood}

Finished off the Labyrinth. Took the opportunity to possess a Deep one. Completed several usual town quests back to back, including the Sting quest. The Sting quest was close to going downhill because I triggered a hidden "armageddon" trap that also had a group of Gravity hounds. As soon as I realized what happened, I immediately teleported away, recovered, and picked off the Gravity hounds and the other monsters coming from that nasty trap. Anyways, I finished the Sting quest just in time for the 2 hour mark.
Where to, next?
Key finds:
1) The Small Sword 'Sting' (1d6) (+7,+8) (+3)

-Still need to *ID*
2) Law Dragon Scale Mail (-2) [40,+19] {Mimic quest}

3) Double Ring Mail of the Olog-hai (-2,+2) [15,+13] (+1)

4) The Set of Gauntlets 'Paurnimmen' [2,+7] {Mimic quest}

Took a trip to the Anti-magic cave and it was worth it. Collected some artifacts as well as a Staff of Speed. Had a close call with Morgenstern and Ashram. These guys sure hits *really* hard! The "Treader of the Dust" dude was very annoying and forced me to use up most of my Potions of Healing. Judge Fire made a unwelcome presence as well. Fortunately, I was quick enough to put these monsters in their place...and kill them off.
Now that I'm at clvl 31, time is running short before I have to switch to another body...Deep ones last until clvl 33. I'll consider getting a Rock giant or even a Lesser titan. I really need Confusion resistance to safely take down the Lesser titan.
Looking at my equipment, I am using that Ring of Protection {Nt(St} at nearly all times because I don't want surprise attacks from Judge Mortis.
I guess I'm off to Camelot / Orc cave / Forest / Angband quests
I'll have to remember to get the Fur Cloak of Shadows [3,+12] (+2 to stealth) {Angwil '7'} from home before taking on Shelob.
Key finds:
1) The Hard Leather Cap of Thranduil [2,+10] (+2) [+10%] {Ca, Anti-magic cave 42, ground}
-Resist Blidnesss + Chaos is nice!
2) The Large Leather Shield of Celegorm [6,+20] {Ca, Anti-magic cave, ?Acquirement}

3) The Metal Cap of Thengel [3,+12] (+3) [+15%]

5) The Phial of Galadriel (+1 to searching) {Ant-magic cave 42, ground}

Decided to take on the Camelot knights and possess whatever bodies while the fun lasts...now, I'm Sir Galahad! Sir Galahad's body is nice...Basic four resistances + resist Poison + Reflection + some Speed + Healing spell.
Hopefully, I get to score corpses from Sir Lancelot or Arthur Pendragon.
Key finds:
1) a Staff of Speed (6 charges) {Morivant '7'} - Scored another one and my failure rate dropped to ~18% since possession of Sir Galahad
2) The Small Sword 'Excalibur Jr.' (2d6) (+3,+5) (+3)
3) Law Dragon Scale Mail (-2) [40,+10] {Camelot 22, ground} - Yep, another one
4) The Chain Mail 'Phantom' (-2) [14,+15] (+3) {Wi;AcPoBlNtDi, Camelot 22, Wutugu} -Nifty set of resistances
5) Pseudo Dragon Scale Mail (-2) [40,+16] - currently my only source of Darkness resistance; will come in handy for Shelob
6) a Set of Gauntlets of the Berserker (-25,+12) [2,-17] (+1) {-Wi, Camelot} -Yep, big damage boost; too bad the armour cannot be enchanted
7) a Dragon Helm [8,+10] {FiCoSoNtFe} -includes Nether resistance

Got the Sir Lancelot body I was looking for. But now, my damage is lacking...217 won't cut it when facing any Rock giant or Lesser titan. Currently wondering in the Anti-magic cave. Going to take on Orc cave / Forest / Icky cave / Angband quests soon.
I have until clvl 35 to make use of Sir Lancelot's body. What body to use at clvl 35? Based on what I have - Botei-Building vs. Ancient gold dragon vs. Kokuo vs. Eldrak? The deep one is out...max level is 33!
Finished the Camelot with loads of good stuff as usual:
1) a Zweihander of *Slay* Dragon (4d6) (+5,+9) (+1) {AcCo}
2) a Ring of Combat (+0,+7)
3) a Dragon Helm [8,+17] {PoBlNtDi, Camelot 35}
4) The Sabre 'Careth Asdriag' (1d7) (+6,+8) (+3)
5) a Mirror Shield [10,+13] -Reflection!
6) a Bastard Sword (Pattern) (3d4) (+13,+8) (+2) {Camelot} -need to *ID*
7) a Naginata of Gondolin (2d6) (+12,+19) -has Darkness resistance
8) The Light Crossbow of Wilhelm Tell (x4) (+40,+13) (+4) - Although this Light Xbow is clearly better than the Short Bow of Robin Hood, the Light Xbow has no disenchantment resistance.

Slowly getting somewhere. Completed the Orc cave and Forest. Found the Stone of Lore and a Ring of Speed (+5) in the Orc cave...nice! It won't be long before I hit clvl 35. Once I hit clvl 35, I might go for the Ancient Gold Dragon, with the Eldrak/Botei-Building as backup. Next stop - Icky cave and then dive into Angband.
Key finds:
1) The Stone of Lore {Orc cave, !?Snotling?!} - I could have sworn that a ?Snotling drop this at Orc cave 23(?)!!!
2) a Ring of Speed (+5) {Orc cave 23} - Decent enough
3) a Set of Leather Gloves of Slaying (+1,+7) [1,+6] {Wilderness encounter NW of Telmora, Small wooden chest} - enough damage bonus to boost my melee
4) The Fur Cloak of Mook [3,+20] {Camelot 35, Morgana Le Fey} - Dropped by Camelot 35 and made quick work of Morgana Le Fey before she could do anything
5) a Staff of Speed (8 charges) {Telmora '7'} - My 3rd Staff of Speed already!!!

7) The Set of Gauntlets 'Paurnen' [2,+7] - Acid Brand!
8) The Rhino Hide Armour 'Dasai' (-1) [8,+64] (-10) - Although the AC bonus speaks volumes...I don't like aggravation or that huge CHR penalty!

Completed the Icky cave and the first 3 Angband quests. I'm going after the 4th Angband quest at dlvl 38 soon. Took on the 4th Angband quest...Judge Mortis and *STOMPED* him DEAD very quickly before he even had a chance! I took the precaution of carrying two sources of Nether resistance. I'm leaving Thranduil at home for now. Maybe, I'll consider bringing it with me.
Lots of key finds this time:
1) The Set of Leather Gloves 'Cambeleg' (+8,+8) [1,+15] (+2) {Angband 40, Dwar}

2) Bar Chain Mail of the Uruk-hai (+2,+3) [18,+9] (+2) {So}

-Great CON bonus + resistances to Confusion/Shards/Nexus
4) Green Dragon Scale Mail (-2) [40,+10] {Angband 38, Gnome mage}

5) The Hard Leather Armour of Himring [6,+15]

6) The Cloak of Merry (+1,+1) [1,+7] (+1)

7) The Cloak 'Guardian' [1,+15] (+2) {St;ElLi(St}
-Merry's replacement and it's crap
8) a Set of Cesti of the Thief (+2,-1) [5,+7] (+5)

Went ahead and took out Utgard-Loke in the Giant's Hall. He wasn't that hard and had no chance to summon before he was dead. After that, I tried to find a Rock giant, which took a while, of course. To make use of time, I tried out different bodies: Sir Lancelot > Biclops > Botei-Building > Rock giant.
Biclops has:
Acid and Poison resistances
Throws rocks
Botei-Building has:
Reflection
No resistances apparently (?)
Extra melee attack
Rock giant:
*hard-hitting* shatter attack, which can STUN
Throws rocks
AC greater than Botei-Building
I actually played as Botei-Building for a while and tried out the Arena. After a few close calls, I realized it got too hectic, so I had to leave. I went back to the Giant's Hall. I encountered a Vault Lesser titan who summoned two Rock giants. I got one lured away and killed it off and finally got a Rock giant corpse. Of course, I didn't hesitate to switch to the Rock giant corpse. In some ways, Botei-Building is better. But in the end, I chose the Rock giant because of its shatter move and I rely on this *A LOT*.
Now that I'm the Rock giant, it's time to put down that Small Sword and fight with SHATTERING fists!!!

After cleaning out that vault at Giant's Hall 40, I went to the Arena to fight off whatever I could handle, and I did fairly well. I basically stayed in the Arena this whole time until Arena dlvl 62, where I had found AND possessed a HRU! It took me forever to find a Hru. Now that I'm a Hru doing nearly ~600, I'm in for some REAL fun!
If you notice, I already scored Nidhogg's corpse. I might use it later. If I happen to get Kenshirou's, I'll switch anyday. When Locke drops his [guaranteed] corpse, I'll save it for later.

8) The Robe of Eternity [0,+42] (+3)

I think I'll just either finish up Arena 62 or leave right away and work on the next few Angband quests.

So far, so good. Spend most of my time leveling up in the Arena and Numenor, but fished for uniques in the Arena. I scored a handful of bodies, egos, and artifacts for display (see below). Numenor seemed to be one of the easier dungeons for the mid-late game. Nidhogg's body is pretty good with his Vampiric attacks and Acid breath. Pretty soon, I'm going to start running into more monsters that resist Acid and life-draining. The Angband 44 quest was a little tough with the King in Yellow as the quest monster...who resisted life-draining and summoned his minions, of course. Did anyone notice that I now have:
1) 10 Potions of Healing
2) 4 Rods of Escaping
3) Acid breath with 539 damage
4) some interesting corpses at home
5) a Pair of Hard Leather Boots of Feanor [3,+9] (+10) {Arena 64, ?Dracolich}
Key corpses obtained:
1) The Corpse of Raou the Conqueror {Arena 64}
2) a Greater kraken Corpse {Numenor 67?}
3) The Corpse of The Yamata-no-Orochi
Any suggestions about these corpses vs. Nidhogg?
My probable next moves:
1) I might switch to Raou because he has access to footwear slot. This way, I can use the ego Pair of Hard Leather Boots of Feanor -OR-
2) Maybe stick with Nidhogg for now, if I don't switch. I have to beware of Habu the Champion of Chaos! This dude resists life-draining AND Acid, Cold, Poison, and Nether, and remains one of the worst. For emphasis, I may need a stronger melee body later on.
3) Reforge *something*...any ideas??
4) Awaiting Indra, Vilya, or some form of Lightning immunity before attempting to fight the Shambler in Telmora's Arena.

But your damage isn't that bad with almost 550.
And for reforging, sell all that junk in your home, get 2m and reforge that dragongear you are wielding. Don't tryto reforge jewelry, it's a waste.

Currently at clvl 45 possessing Yamata-no-Orochi doing 444 combined melee damage with AC 214 and +15 Base Speed.
Decided to get back this one (Hugo$oul 1036, descendent of Hugo$oul 934) while I figure out what to do with Hugo$oul 934's GCWADL. And NO, Hugo$oul 934 is NOT dead. As for Hugo$oul 1036, I decided to give Yamata-no-Orochi a try. Yamata has great damaging breath attacks with these slots: 5 Heads, 5 Amulets, 1 Light source, and 1 Cloak, but no slots for footwear or Rings, leaving me with a slower Base Speed than expected. :( I went to Arena 64 to see what I can pull off. Lo and behold I saw Kenshirou. But, this Keeper of Secrets was causing trouble at the same time. I used the Staff of Speed to get myself a little faster. Using a mix of breath attacks and melee, I killed off the Keeper of Secrets. After that, I singled out Kenshirou, stayed hasted, and killed him off with the Chaos breath. And *YES*, Kenshirou dropped a body. To those who don't know, Kenshirou is actually much stronger than Raou, even though they are similar. Kenshirou has more STR, but less DEX than Raou. I'll post some screenshots on the comparison between the two. In fact, I might even switch to Kenshirou or Raou soon.
Key finds for Hugo$oul 1036 since last time:
1) The Palantir of Westernesse (+3)

Yep, I went for the Kenshirou possession and *MAN* I had a *HUGE* amount of fun with this. I'm literally pummelling tons of monsters and most monsters were not even able to catch a break!!! Has anyone tried Kenshirou's 'Double move' power? This 'Double move' power is s-o A-W-E-S-O-M-E that A-W-E-S-O-M-E cannot even describe it. I wonder if there are any other monsters that have it. I didn't check with Raou, because I donated his body to the Museum and Kenshirou was way stronger anyways.
Another A-W-E-S-O-M-E thing is my current weapon, The Bo Staff 'Avenging Angel' (4d12) (+20,+15) [+9] (+2 to stealth) {CnSl;Co;Te/XU/*pT(Cn, Arena, ?monster?,.}. This Bo Staff is S-I-C-K!!! Look at how much it do against Demons. If you combine this weapon with the kick, Damage against Demons = 1237!!!!! That's Wahha-Man caliber. Unbelievable.
Looks like I'll get far with this one. Even though I have Locke's body, I'm delaying its usage until later when I find myself unable to take down Olympians.

4) The Ring of Tulkas (+4) {Arena 79}
5) The Golden Crown of Amber [0,+15] (+3) {Dk;Sd, Arena 77, Khamul}

7) The Light Crossbow of Brand (x4) (+10,+12) (+5 to speed) {Nt, Arena 65, Great Venom Wyrm}
8) 4 Scrolls of Vengeance
9) a Potion of Giant Strength {!k}
10) The Stone of War (+6,+6)
Because of the rapid progress and me killing monsters so fast, I was not able to label exactly where I found all these. I want to point out that I found 'Avenging Angel' in the Arena dungeon.

Fought monsters in the Arena, R'lyeh, and at Mt Olympus dungeons in hope of getting high level corpses and artifacts...and lo and behold I procured Combat-Echizen's body and The Pair of Hard Leather Boots of Feanor from a Cyberdemon, both at Arena 79. Now, I have Combat-Echizen's and Locke's bodies to spare. But, I'm not yet ready to switch. I just CANNOT get enough of Kenshirou's ability to STUN REALLY, REALLY HARD. I did attempt to take on the Master Tonberry, but he's a bit too tough with the Tonberry summoning. I had a close call with The Norsa at Mt Olympus because I kept pummeling with the Double Attack even at low HP, like < 600 HP...I have to remember to bail out when stuff like that happens.
Key finds:
1) The Pair of Hard Leather Boots of Feanor [3,+20] (+15 to speed) {Arena 79, Cyberdemon}
2) The Full Plate Armour of Isildur [25,+25] (+2) {Fe, Arena 79, Dark elven shade}
3) The Mirror 'Yata-no-Kagami' [0,+18] (+3) {Arena 79}
4) a Hell Harness (+5,+16) [-5] {cursed, Arena 79}
Any suggestions on what to reforge now that I have a fame of 148? Are the results better if I use Dragongear with more resistances or less resistances?

Had *A LOT* of fun taking out Olympians, 6 of them including Zeus, at Mt Olympus, singlehandedly with Kenshirou!! The crazy part was that I managed to take out Zeus without Electricity Immunity!
Olympians killed (in this order):
#1 Artemis
#2 Poseidon
#3 Demeter
#4 Aphrodite
#5 Zeus
#6 Hephaestus
I accumulated so many new egos/artifacts that I lost track. :(

This one (Hugo$oul 1036) is also still alive as well. I explored Mt Olympus 99 a bit more because it was a special level. But, it got out of hand because of Athena's Ulimate Magi. The Ultimate Magi are downright ruthless. Then, I bumped into Ares who Mortally wounded a few times. Ares, of course, summoned Hera to make matters worse. I used a Scroll of Teleport Level to escape to Mt Olympus 97. I'll probably have to Recall out of Mt Olympus soon since I'm running low on Teleportation scrolls. I might have to consider switching out Kenshirou soon. I might test out the other bodies first before jumping to Combat-Echizen.

Some events since last time for Hugo$oul 1036. Took a beating from The Destroyer who met its maker. I used up all charges of 6 fully charged Staves of Healing and one !*Healing* on this dude alone...Wow! After that, I left that Mt Olympus level and then almost got killed by a Nycadeamon's Nether breath on a different level. Struggling again, I used a Scroll of Teleport Level to quickly escape. After noticing that I was down to only 1 !*Healing* and only 1 Scroll of Teleport Level, it was time to stay away from Mt. Olympus to get more supplies. With Mt Olympus no longer a feasible option, having access to Scrolls of Mundanity, and me wanting to stick with Kenshirou's body, I decided to give the Rune Sword a try. Time to explore other dungeons. We'll see what goes...

Found a big problem. My Rune Sword DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!!!! I'm in Arena 79 and I have to rely on kick attacks to kill anything in sight If I'm Hell knights (level 52 monsters), my Rune Sword should at least gain something. Is Kenshirou one of body types that is always [Unskilled[! at Rune Swords? Rune Swords are 15lb. That's not too light. I'm ready to use my Scroll of Mundanity to blow up this Rune Sword any minute. >:(
On 8.5.2014 12:31 chris wrote: Attempting to use the Rune Sword for this character is probably a bad idea. For one thing, they take a long time to build to power. For another, they only grow when they land a killing blow, and your innate kick attack is going to annoyingly steal most kills from you, I fear.
To use the Rune Sword, you need to get it started, which means overcoming the -50 innate damage. Use whatever equip you have to pull this off even if it means exposing resistance holes. Then beat on weaker monsters until the sword grows a bit. Stay shallow until the sword does enough damage to be playable and then switch back to your normal kit. But to grow the sword to power will take thousands of kills, so this takes time, at least 10 hours of play. I don't recommend attempting this with a late game character who has already killed so many uniques.
I think Rune Swords are a bit of an oddity, but surely someday someone will use them. Better to find them early with an intentional build to take advantage (e.g. Craft caster).

Tried out different bodies and finally settled on Combat-Echizen. I actually did not use the real Locke's body, thinking Combat-Echizen was the better option. Combat-Echizen has great speed and can do decent melee damage, but the RNG went two-faced and gave me a Life-raing of 86/100 on my last Potion of New Life...terrible!!!

Found a way to re-arrange my equipment to improve my CON (and thus my HP) a notch and to integrate even more Olympian artifacts...The Wooden Torch of Demeter and The Harp of Apollo. With my current equipment, I now have double resistance on just about everything, including Time, which is what you don't see very often!
As you probably realized, two more Olympians down:
#7 - Apollo
#8 - Hera
I had numerous close calls here and there...Black reavers, Apollo's Fenghuangs, you name it. Fighting off the Fenghuang so that I could get Apollo's harp was definitely worth it!
