question about ubuntu location of edit files

When my PC was a windows machine, I could delete the raw data files, make changes to the edit files to create a new race or class or item, then run angband again to create new raw files with my changes in them.

But I installed angband 3.1.2v2 from a repository and have no idea if I can still do this, and if so, where those files are located.

Could someone explain this to me, or provide a link to a FAQ? Thanks in advance.

In the newer versions, the RAW files no longer exist. The game just goes directly to the Edit files automatically.

Just like in the PC version, the edit files will be found in (Angband Directory)\lib\edit

I can't tell you offhand where the Angband directory would be (I play on my Windows box, not my Linux box).

If Angband is installed from the Ubuntu repos, the edit files will be in /etc/angband/edit per Debian policy. If it was not installed from a .deb package but built by hand, they'll be installed however the build was configured - ISTR the default is /usr/local/angband/edit but I could be wrong.

Code:
   locate *.raw
