Game crashes if I try to open autoinscription menu ( =...s...{ )

I have also noticed that the shops offer lots of -x/-x armor and weapons. Is this intended behavior?

It's not directly intended, but it's a side effect of the new pricing algorithm - they have positive value even with the minuses. Under the old pricing system anything with net negative plusses was treated as being of zero value.
