Expanding the power of the look command again with mouseover.

using the 'l'ook command only allows using the mouse to click, which instantly sets that tile/monster as the target, without even highlighting it in advance. usually by the time you've selected a target, you're already highlighting your bullseye, quicker to hit 't'. how about making the hovering cursor be the highlighter, less frantic tapping of the numpad to check what potion you've detected past all those detected doors, which should be downgradable to the same lock on status as granite. In other thoughts, why can't I use the mouse to give my hero a quick order to run to location x, stopping only for food and monsters?

I've been opposed to this, on the grounds that:
  1. it's useless for stylus devices and
  2. stylus devices are the ones that need pointer input the most, as they typically have a less useful keyboard.

Er, you can Again in V3.0.9, bottom option on the first option screen.

And all those Windows users with styluses are...

Or press 'g' whilst you are looking at stuff.

As a quick aside, while Unangband currently uses left-mouse button to do the same as 'g' and right mouse button to set a target, I'm strongly considering doing the World of Warcraft approach which is left-mouse button to set a target and right-mouse button to move to it.

And, re: looking at targets, there's a one line define to allow this to happen whenever a mouse over occurs in Unangband. I've not enabled this as you lose the last message displayed, as this shares the same line at the moment.

*Facepalm* I was trying to use run, click. I'll be back after I go read the changelog again, with a fine toothed comb.

So I guess I'd like to see complete, general mouse controls introduced with only clicking (and maybe dragging?), and then mouseovers can be introduced as a bonus for people that can use them.

Oh, and g'day, mate
