Squelching DSM
I just accidentally squelched two brand-new pieces of Dragon Scale Mail, one of which I was considering wearing at some point. I was surprised, because I only have my settings set to squelch {good} armor and worse.
Perhaps DSM should be grouped in with {excellent} items for this purpose? I understand it's not {excellent}, because its abilities are known before it's Identified and because *DSM is the armor type and not an ego property, but it still seems like squelch settings would better reflect what players probably want to do if it were changed. Guess I'll have to go back to squelching {average} and worse, or at least try to remember to change the next time I find some DSM. |

Squelching in V just hides the object so if you change the squelch setting, that DSM you want will reappear (at least, if you haven't left the level yet..).

I picked them up. And, since I have auto-pickup on and my inventory often fills with useless junk, I have a habit of issuing the command to destroy all squelched objects in inventory. I've liked that command since I was upgraded to 3.0.9, because it's so fast. Doesn't even ask you to confirm, and what could possibly go wrong?

The best thing to do for now is just squelch {average}, like you're doing, I guess. There's no real other way around it, other than overhauling the *.txt files ![]() |

Just inscirbe the DSM with !k right away. I do this with my avg ammo I buy at the stores, !k@f1, so I don't end up with a lot of junk.
Again this is why NPP squelch is the best. What we have in V is better than nothing , however. |

Disregard that for now, yes, it is possible that adding something like that would work, but not 100% of the time, at least, not without reworking some flags (like adding a 'ALWAYS_EGO' flag), then reworking the ego generation to look for that flag, and if it's there, keep trying to generate it until it picks up the flag (which with a sufficiently unhappy RNG, might take days or weeks)
