[Z] Change race back

Hello ppl,
I need some help. My dark elf warrior got a ball of radiation and turned into a cyclops. Is there any way to turn him back? This is no mutation, unfortunatly, so I guess drinking a potion of new life wont help... or will it?

Playing Zangband 2.7.4c

Bad luck, you cac't turning back this change - and you right, quaffing !ofNL didn't help. This is permanent change. Ofcourse maybe you will gain somehow a mutation 'mutate at will' and start rolling, but it is clear that you will more chance with finding Ringil at 2000 ft, than turning back to starting charcter.

Actually, the recovery process is easier than finding ringil at 2000', but a lot less fun!

The only way to turn back into a dark elf is to keep getting hit by more radiation until you get such a result. But probably you should just put up with it, good play at angband is *all* about adaptablility after all...

EDIT - If I had a penny every time my big hard paladin/warrior changed into a woman in one of these evil variants... I'd uh... have at least a whole genderbending £1!

Thanks a lot for quick and detailed answers. Since I never ever found Ringil, I think I will learn to love this Cyclops after all :))
